Hi,
The border looks very nice, but is different in impact to the work on your other cakes.

Surely, this must be quicker to do. Also, how does it stand up in the tropical heat and humidity.
Lastly, any difference if you do this border before/ after the rest of the cake decoration.

Hi anonymous,
Thanks for stopping by.
I completely agree that the impact is very different from the sugarcraft work of mine that you have seen before. I had got a lot of requests to showcase some things which can be done differently with icing as well.
Icing work is definitely faster and royal icing stands very well in tropical heat and humidity.
It is advisable to do the top decorations first and then work on the sides.

Hi Swati,
I'm great fan of sugarcraft.
All of your works are great.
Specifically this border is looking fabulous. Please let me know if you conduct any workshop in Mumbai.
Love,
Aditi.

Yes, Shubha edible food colours along with petal dusts are available to give shading to flowers etc.
You can cover the cake with fondant and then do royal icing work on it.
The cake shown in the picture is covered with fondant.
