Narcissus and Mimosa Blossoms

March 8 is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.

I learnt about this event from one of my favourite blogger Asha of "Foodies Hope" and it motivated me to make a small contribution my way..Sugarcrafted Narcissus flowers and Mimosa Blossoms.

The International Women's Day event is being hosted by lovely Zorra from "kochtopf". In her own words " Yellow" because on this day in Southern countries there is the tradition to give sprigs of bright yellow Mimosa flowers to women. The flowers are intended as a sign of respect and also an expression of solidarity with the women in their support for oppressed women worldwide.

During my recent trip to Nainital I saw beautiful Yellow Narcissus in full bloom and that was what immediately came to my mind.

I also made some mimosa flowers as they signify this day.

Thanks Zorra for hosting this lovely event.

Wishing all of you a very Happy Women's Day...

swati. Lovely gesture for such a symbolic day. Beauty in yellow. The colors of the morning sun. The flowers are exquisite. I feel that some more green in the background would have been better. Love the expression of joy in your heart that you recreate with sugarcraft.

Beautiful flowers Swati. Love them. Really I am so sad now that I paid a hefty amount for cake decorating classes here and the decorations I learnt were too basic compared to these. Anyway..sometime in future I want to take these classes from you :)

Beautiful cakes Swati, like always :)
I started recently making things from polymer clay... flowers and fruits but I haven't use it for 15 years now so I need a little bit more practice.
