Swati,

This is CUTENESS personified....Loved the creation!! I esp. liked the composition, with the ballerina child almost commanding the indulgent parent to help with the belles. The figure is so cute and 'hug inspiring'. Really a master piece in technique....also loved the flowers peeking from behind those child-like ankles.
Great stuff!!

Dear Swati
This took me about 3-4 hours I think..Did not time myself though!! There is some amount of drying time because of which it takes longer...

Dear Anonymous
Thats quite a praise... Thanks so much!!

Dear Happy Cook

Thanks for your kind words..Well, its just sugar..tastes too sweet ;) This is mean to be a cake topper..!!

Beautiful! I keep saying that and I mean it every time. My daughter was in Ballet for 2 yrs when she was young, reminded me of that!:))

aaawn so cute baby ballerina, only black hair and she looks like me he he he. I'm glad that you are back

Outstanding work! This week I used pastillage instead of gumpaste. I now see the diffrence and prefer gumpaste because the texture is much smmother. Its amazing what you create with just a little sugar, color, and time.:-)

wow! Love the realistic rendition of the toes and the shoes...

So sweet Asha... Thanks a ton:))

Faery, am trying to imagine you now!! ha ha..with back hair as you said..

Glamah, what were you making with pastillage.Ya gumpaste is much better to work with..softer and allows time for creativity..

Swati said...

Thanks Rachel.. It nice to hear from you...:))

Hey Shn, thanks.. Ya the ballerina is happy after a great performance..ha ha !!

Ivy, thanks so much..I am so so happy to hear that you made the kheer..will await for your post!!

Swati, is so lovely baby ballerina.
Sure, Swati. It is a very rich cake for breakfast. The cup and saucers are very old and very beautiful are of my grand mother. Thanks you. Best and whises.

Glad to see you back, Swati! That's a very cute looking ballerina. I showed all your creations to my daughter (9 yr old) and she was saying, wow! she is the real artist! Have a great day, swati!

Yes pastillage dries quicker, but I wanted to expermint. My friends daughter is haveing a baby shower. So I made a topper of a sweet pea with a baby inside. Cracks everywhere! I made additional sweet peas with gumpaste and much smoother. I'll post it next week or so.

How can anyone eat something sooo cute? :) I am sure that made some little girl very happy... Welcome back Swati, hope you had a fun break...

Indranee not a bad idea at all... The heat is a big enemy for sugarcraft//let the weather get better...can work on it then !!

Thanks Tartasacher, I really found the cup and saucer very pretty..lucky girl to inherit it from your grandmum and you have preserved it too very well..Love your bakes!!

Thanks Uma..Thats very sweet of you..I wish you were somewhere nearby so I could make something for your daughter too :))...Give my love to her!!

Glamah nice to hear from you... Pastillage is generally used for things that you want to give strength..Like you can make dowels out of it, walls etc for construction work..
For delicate stuff it is flower paste which works best and things which need minimum detailing a good modelling paste does wonders..
Will look forward to seeing the sweet pea with the baby inside..sounds very very good..Like the idea a lot..!!

Thanks Meeso..Its always a pleasure to hear from you.

WOW>>>>... What a wonderful work. Looks great. So cute.

Swati said...

Thank you so much Anitha.. You have really noticed all the detailing that I did. Detailing is always time consuming but without it any creation looks too basic and incomplete. You would agree with me there right!! Even I admire all your creations...

Shilpa, thank you dear!!

Rosie, am glad you liked this baby ballerina.. Imagine this sitting on a three tier birthday cake for a baby girl.. it would look nice, isnt it!!

As some one who draws, I know that intangible lost feeling, that place you go where the world outside no longer exists, when you are deeply in focus and time loses meaning. Swati, you a clearly so talented in your detailing. To me, sculpture is much harder than graphite or charcoal. You have my admiration. That is some baby doll!
