Tulip Cake

The past week has been really difficult with the weather. Its been pouring here and just doesn't seem to stop.
I agree its nice when its raining..Sit in the balcony with a hot cup of coffee or a masala chai (tea) and a plate of pakodas..But everyday.. for 8-9 days continuously!!! Naah!!

I tried my best to make some flowers and other tit bits but none of them could survive the moisture.. It was frightening to see them wilt and sticky..Scary stuff for me!!

Today the weather was clear and I pounced on the chance... My dining table is my workplace and it was soon swamped with my sugarcraft tools and pastes.... I was full of zeal and enthusiam and I had two things I was determined to do..Tulips and Crabapples..

Tulips have long since been there in my subconscience.. My trip to Keukinhoff, Holland made me fall in love with tulips .. Its an ecstacy thinking about that trip!! The windmills and the acres of land blooming with tulips.... Mesmerising!!

Crabapples ...The entire credit goes to Susan who very sweetly sent across some stunning pictures with close ups of the Crabapples.. I had been longing to make these since then..

Wish it pours here like that Swati, it's so hot and then you have to keep watering the plants too!
I love Tulips, sign of Spring for us. Looks great, didn't know rain affects the sugar craft.

Ι'd love a cup of that chai. How interesting. In Cyprus we say chai for tea and in Greece where ch cannot be pronounced they call it tsai.
Your tulips look beautiful Swati and thanks for that huge hug which I pass it back to you.

I can really understand how difficult it is to work with sugarpaste in high humidity. Weather plays so much in cake decorating :-)I sometimes have a tough time to work with buttercream when the weather is too hot.

The tulips look excellent. Once you get the desired results, all the difficulties faced are forgotten :-)

Nice job.
