Swarovski: Wedding Cake 2

Hello Friends, as promised I am sharing with you another cake that was done for Swarovski, for their Bridal event.
The pictures are not so good but still would give you a glimpse of the work.
I did a smocking pattern on the top tier and balanced the softness with some delicate extension work and fragile lace pieces on the tier below.

The cake is topped with some sugarcrafted flowers and ivy leaves.
A few Swarovski crystals have been used here along with Swarovski pearls to finish off the tiers.

A closer look at the work..The lace pieces are yet to be attached at this stage...

it's amazing to see food being used to craft art in this form. more challenging than most other art forms, i think. and more satisfying, since everyone around you gets to taste it. great job!!

Hi Swati,

Very nice and inspiring to see your work. I have been wanting to get in touch with somebody in India to discuss sugarcraft.

I live in UK and do a lot of baking and cake making here for friends and family.

Last christmas I baked fruit cakes and took the them to India. I also bought some rolled fondant icing from the shops and took with me. In Mumbai I marzipanned and iced the cakes same as i do here. The Sugarpaste sweated and while everybody lovd the cake , they were very confused by sticky topping.

In December my sister is getting married , I am baking a fruit cake and taking it with me.
Please coul U advise suitable icing?
Thanks!!!

Hi Swati,
I am so in awe of your work, your style is just so classy. I have recently moved to mumbai from shanghai and though I am not much of a baker, I would like to try a cake for my anniversary and hopefully try and ice it.If it's not too much trouble could you please tell me where I can get some gumpaste and fondant in mumbai.
