The lilies were made on a special request for a cousin of mine for her birthday in Mumbai...Yes, they will be travelling from Delhi to Mumbai and now have to think about its packaging !!! I am skeptical about this bit always and keep my fingers crossed till the end !!
Though I was severely down with viral this week I still managed to sit up and do the flowers in tiny bits...The fairy idea came up from my 7 year old daughter when she saw it in a book and she was very keen that I make it...So, thats how the baby fairy came up!! My daughter was really very excited about it....
Since I was'nt making any cake for my cousin and just needed to do the flowers I was thinking hard on how to click photos of these when I found the cane basket and then everything fell in place.....

Hi Shilpa
Hey, not a stupid question at all..Its a pleasure answering your queries...
I made the flowers from fondant which you guessed right ...but the paste also has a powder called tylose added to it which essentially provides elasticity and stetchability to the dough.
Do feel free to ask further questions :)
Hi Swati, what awesome lillies!! A real credit to your talent :D I will keep crossed that they travel well.....
I do hope you are feeling much better sweetie!!

Hi Swati,
Thanks for tagging me, I share the similarities 1 and 2 :-).
Those lilies are gorgeous. And the presentation is amazing. That cane basket just pops out the flowers so well. Nice work.
Swati:
That baby fairy is sooooo sweeeet. i just wonder how you make these beautiful creations, every time! Very beautiful work.
Thanks Swati. I never made fondant at home. I bought Wilton's ready made here, I hate the taste of this fondant :(. So was wondering if there is a way to make it at home. I asked in my cake decorating class teacher, but she didn't have a recipe :(.
Btw..do you have these classes in Bangalore too?
Also..what is sugar paste(I would have searched on internet, but there is so much info and I get lost :( )?
Oh Swati,I love these lilies and the baby fairy it is so cute,(I can't imagine why I like fairies so much...) , these look so natural I can imagine the texture of the lilies.I bet you can make my mom's orchids in sugar she's got one that is green (my favorite color) and smeels like chewing gum amd another that is as big as small coin ha ha.
Swati,very cute fairy..nice creation!!
Hello Swati!
I am back to blogging after a very lon time, and I'm sorry that I could not reply to any of your responses earlier. I really like all your posts and as usual this one is great! There's so much to learn from your blog. You wrote to me previously that you resided in south kolkata and studied at south city college. That's great, and I live in south as well. You can mail me at-inb3400@yahoo.com and we can exchange links, if you wish.
Have a great time ahead!
